West Burton Energy is a combined cycle gas turbine power station. Following its acquisition by EIG, the company needed to separate its business operations from the EDF central SAP platform and migrate to a new SAP S/4HANA environment on the AWS cloud.
The requirement to carve out the West Burton Energy business from the EDF SAP ECC system was complex – it needed to include all historical data and the target was a new S/4HANA system. Business Partner conversion, New Asset Accounting and New GL were all mandatory along with changes to the chart of accounts and currency. And all within a 6-month project timeline. West Burton Energy engaged Xmateria to lead this ambitious data migration.
After starting with a discovery assessment to confirm the requirements and timelines, Xmateria recommended and deployed the Natuvion DCS landscape transformation software to deliver a rapid and precise carve-out of the divested business. This approach, coupled with a robust data migration methodology, provided the speed and performance required to meet the deadlines, and the capability to migrate and transform the West Burton Energy business data.
